Walking
The Crown is situated in the heart of the Kentish Weald
and has some of the most beautiful countryside to explore.

shows many local rambles. The Ashdown Forest is
the largest public access site in S.E. England and you
can walk, cycle, and horse ride there.

Cycling
There are two lovely cycling routes the Forest Way track a 10 mile route from Forest Way to Groombridge passing through East Grinstead and the Cuckoo Line from Eridge, south of Groombridge to Polegate passing through open countryside The tracks are shared with ramblers and horse riders.
Rock Climbing
About 3 miles from the Crown is an excellent climbing
centre called Evolution a modern indoor arena located
on the Kent/Sussex border which has good facilities
including an abseiling tower and a Board training room. It
is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Also in Groombridge are Harrisons Rocks an area with
rocks having a variety of climbs for different abilities.

Golf
This area has many quality golf courses including the Neville at Crowborough Beacon and Sweetwoods Park a challenging 72 par course set in a stunning part of the Wealden area. Next to Sweetwoods is Holtye another lovely course Lingfield Park course near to the race course is also quite a challenge.
Horse Riding
