Welcome to the Crown Inn, our 16th Century Public House and restaurant situated in the picturesque village of Groombridge. The Pub was built cerca 1585 and stands at the end of a row of pretty cottages overlooking the old village green. All hold centuries of history and secrets.

It is one of the oldest pubs in the South of England and is an excellent position for exploring with lovely walks close by in Ashurst Park, Stone Cross, Burrswood, Withyham and The Ashdown Forest. We have chosen six of our locals favourite walks for you to try with maps and directions on the Activities page. There is also links and information for Cycling, Rock Climbing, Golf, Horse Riding and Fishing in the area.

Groombridge Place is only across the road where weekend events take place, lovely gardens to walk through and a children's Enchanted Forest.

Come and try our traditional cuisine in the cosy beamed restaurant with log fires to keep you warm. We have a set menu and a daily specials board that caters for all tastes. Our Sunday Roast is an mouth watering experience!!

Christmas Party's can be catered for and any special events - please call early to book.

Bed and breakfast is available. We have beautiful cosy rooms with all the characters of the 16th Century.

Please feel free to call us to ask any queries and hope to see you soon.
